This geopark is located along the southern coast of Dalian City, Liaoning Province. It was designated as one of the fourth group of national geoparks by the Ministry of Land and Resources in August 2005. The geopark features marine erosion landscapes composed of Proterozoic and early Palaeozoic carbonate rocks. Its main geological landscapes include stratigraphic sections, typical faults, folds, ductile shear zones, sea cliffs, sea stacks, sea caves, sand bars, lagoons, sedimentary structures and trilobite fossils.
