This is a landscape with glaciers formed as a result of neotectonic uplift in temperate and tropical regions. Examples are the snow-capped Kilimanjaro Mountain in Tanzania, which is located on the Equator and has become a famous destination for tourists, and the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park in the North American Rockies, which covers more than one million acres and contains numerous high peaks and more than 50 glaciers and 200 lakes among the mountains and valleys. In China, the Kanas Glacier in Xinjiang and the Gongga Mountain Glacier in Sichuan have been established as glacier-type national geological parks.
