Chuanjun Wu (1918–2009 AD) was a human geographer. He was a leading figure in human geography and modern economic geography and one of the pioneers of tourism geography in China. He was a committee member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (academician). He also served as the deputy director of the Institute of Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the director of the Geographical Society of China, the deputy director of the Natural Resources Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the vice president of the International Geographic Federation. He studied economic geography and human geography for decades. His monographs include ‘Geography of Food in China’ and ‘Land Development, Renovation and Planning’. He was the chief editor of Acta Geographica Sinica, China Agricultural Geography Series, China Agricultural Geography, China Human Geography Series, and 1:100 China Land Use Map.
