This geopark is located in the western part of Zhijin County, Guizhou, and it covers an area of 170 km2. It became a national geopark in 2004. The park consists of three scenic areas: Dongfeng Lake, Zhijin Historical City and the Bi Yun Lake. The geopark is characterised by karst geological and geomorphic landscapes as well as the Zhijin caverns, which contain a wide variety of cavern calcareous deposits and unique graceful shapes, such as tall palm-like pillars. There are also peak clusters, stone forests, solitary peaks, residual hills, pillars, sinkholes, gorges, karst lakes, springs, underground rivers, arches, caves and other features.
