This site is located in the Liu Po Economic Development Zone at Qinglong Mountain, Yunxian, Hubei Province. Six strata contain dinosaur eggs. Other than certain individual strata that contain broken eggs, most layers contain fossil eggs in their original nests. These fossil eggs are mainly ovoid, spherical and oblate. The shells are light brown, dark brown or greyish white. They belong to five families Dendroolithidae, Dictyoolithidae, Faveoloolithidae, Elongatoolithdae and Spheroolithidae. Dendroolithidae are widely distributed and make up the largest proportion of the eggs (approximately 70%). The exposed sequence from the bottom to the top includes the Middle Proterozoic Wu Dang Group, the Upper Cretaceous and the Quaternary. The Upper Cretaceous strata are mainly composed of breccias, brecciated siltstones and fine sandstones, and the dinosaur eggs are mainly embedded in the sandy conglomerate layer (Fig. 15).
