This geopark is located in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It became a national geopark in 2004. The main geological relics are the Lashan red sandstone landform landscape and the evidence of ancient and modern glaciers. The Jinsha River valley geological landscape includes the Tiger Leaping Gorge of the Yangtze River and multi-level terraces. The erosion of the mountains created planes, gorges, beaches, hanging cliffs, horns, ridges, cirques, lateral moraine deposits, stone clusters, rock rivers, permafrost, landslides, collapsed boulder stacks, red sandstone peak clusters, pillars, steep cliffs, and joints.
