Yashan Geopark, Anhui

This geopark is located in Hewan Town in southwestern Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It has a total area of 65 km2, and the main geological features cover an area of 25 km2. It became a national geopark in 2011. It has unique karst landscapes, such as the Yashan Stone Forest, peak clusters, depressions, funnels, karst caves, tiankengs (sinkholes), underground rivers and karst lakes. The geopark also features typical Permian-Triassic stratigraphy, the Zhulian waterfall, Triassic waterfalls, the Dulong Valley, which contains peony culture, and Buddhist and folk cultures. By integrating scientific research and popularisation, geotourism, leisure and cultural entertainment, it is a comprehensive geopark with unique and regional characteristics in eastern China.
