Yangbajing National Geopark is located in Lahsa City in the Tibet Autonomous Region. It became a national geopark in 2009. The main geological features are geothermal resources of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This large section of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau surface is 87 km long and has been called the geological corridor of plateau evolution. The Yangbajing Geothermal Field has diverse geothermal types. The Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains are the centre of development of ancient and modern glaciers. Numerous landforms, including continental glaciers, mountain glaciers, glacier trough valleys, cirques, aretes and horns, have developed along both sides of its main ridge.
