This geopark is located in eastern Luxi County, Pingxiang City, in the western part of Jiangxi Province. It is in the northern part of the Luoxiao Mountains. It was designated as one of the fourth group of national geoparks by the Ministry of Land and Resources in August 2005. It features a NNE-SSW-trending tectonic dome, and the massif consists of gneiss and granite. The geopark contains a metamorphic core complex, tectonic fault-block mountains and granite peak landscapes. Wugongshan is known for its unique peaks, steep slopes, strange pine trees, cascading waterfalls, tranquil ponds and fantastic caves.
