Water source protection includes various engineering and non-engineering measures adopted to prevent the pollution of water sources, mainly including the implementation of legislation, designation of water source protection areas, the formulation of ecosystem protection plans for areas surrounding upstream areas and water sources, and the execution of ecological engineering and other protective measures, such as water purification through wetlands.
