Volcanic Hot Spring Landscape in the Changbai Mountains

This is a hot spring that is supplied by water from a crater lake. Changbai Mountain Hot Spring is located on the northeastern side (Tianchi) of Changbai Mountain in Antu County, Jilin Province, and it is on the right bank of the Erdaobai River, approximately 800 m from the waterfall. The numerous hot springs in the group trend NNE along a Middle Pleistocene alkaline trachyte clastic zone. There are 103 springs in this district, including 32 major springs and six springs with flow rates over 1 L/s. The largest spring has a flow rate as high as 6,827 L/s, and the others are below 1 L/s. The total flow volume is 52 L/s. The spring water temperature ranges from 40 Â°C to 82 Â°C and is mostly 60–70 Â°C. The salinity is 129–147 g/L and is sodium bicarbonate. The soluble silica content is 84–104 mg/L, and it contains various trace elements, such as boron, arsenic, copper, titanium, manganese, cobalt and nickel.
