This reserve is located at the heart of the small island of Praslin northeast of Mahé, Seychelles, and it has a core protection area of 0.2 km2. The reserve includes the vestiges of a natural palm forest that are preserved in nearly their original state. The famous coco de mer, from a palm tree that was once believed to grow in the ocean, has the largest seed in the plant kingdom.
