This park is located in the central part of the Sulu Sea in the southwestern marine area of the Philippines. It covers an area of 130,028 km2 after the extension of the site in 2009. It includes the North and South Reefs. It is a unique example of an atoll reef with a high density of marine species. The North Islet serves as a nesting site for birds and marine turtles.
