Rock Glacier Landscape

This is a landscape composed of extensive glacial moraines. Rock glaciers are dozens to hundreds of metres long and wide, and the cross-sectional profile shows a raised form. They are formed by moraine transportation or by sliding of rocks on a slope due to freezing and thawing. The steeper the front slope is, the more active the rock glacier is (Fig. 18).
