Regional physical geography is a branch of physical geography that includes the overall structure, composition, and dynamics of the physical environment in a given region. It focuses on analyses of the interrelationships, interactions, formation and evolution of the physical components of the natural environment as well as studies of regional development and the associated human-earth relationship. Regional physical geography provides the scientific basis for studying the environment and the sustainable development of tourism and scenic areas.
