Red tourism is a common tourism activity in China in which tourists visit historical memorial sites of revolutions and relics and experience the revolutionary spirit they carry as attractions. People can learn about the history and traditions of past revolutions, invigorate their spirit, relax and increase their knowledge through tourism. Since the reform and the continuous increase of tourism in China, red tourism has gradually become a new area with significant social influence and growing market demand. In December 2004, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council issued The Outline of National Red Tourism Development from 2004 to 2010, which clearly defined the overall idea, layout, and major measures for the development of red tourism.
