Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs but rather a type of reptile that could fly. Their bones were light and hollow. They had small heads and slender beaks but large eyelets. Pterosaur fossils are rare. The Lower Cretaceous Series in Xinjiang Province contains Dsungaripterus and Noripterus fossils (Figs. 32 and 33).
