This type of soil can be found in arid and semi-arid deserts and areas of wind erosion desertification as well as rivers, lakes, and coastal beach areas. The soil formation is weak, and there are no obvious layers in the profile. These soils can be categorised as mobile aeolian sandy soils, semi-fixed aeolian sandy soils and fixed aeolian sandy soils based on the soil formation process.
