This geopark lies on the southern edge of Guizhou Province in Pingtang County in the southern Miaoling Mountains. It is at the junction between the Jiuwan Mountains in Guangxi and the mountainous areas in southern Guizhou, and it covers an area of 25.8 km2. It was designated as one of the fourth group of national geoparks by the Ministry of Land and Resources in August 2005. The geopark features a karst landform of Palaeozoic carbonate rocks. Three rivers run through the geopark; two are surface rivers, and the other is an underground river. Its karst landscapes include peak forest basins and depressions, clustered mountain funnels, sinkhole funnel clusters, karst caves, arches, blind valleys and gorges.
