The Neolithic Age is the final phase of the Stone Age, when primitive man had reached the highest standard of using stone tools. This age extended from the Early Holocene (more than 10,000 years ago) to the Middle Holocene (approximately 4,000 years ago). The emergence of neoliths and pottery marks the beginning of the Neolithic Age. The Nanzhuangtou Village Neolithic site in Xushui County, Hebei Province, contains stone tools, bone tools and pottery fragments that C-14 dating dates to 10,815 years before present. The neoliths may have been used through the Chalcolithic Age and the Bronze Age. The neoliths are tools, including axes, shovels, adzes, knives, chisels, choppers, grinding discs, spears, hammers, drills, burrs, arrowheads, hoes, net sinkers and scrapers. There are also bone tools, pottery, clam knives, and jade tools.
