Mount Dabieshan (Liu’an) National Geopark is located at the junction between the three provinces of Hubei, Henan, and Anhui. Baimajian, which has an elevation of 1,774 m, is the highest peak of Mount Dabieshan. Tiantangzhai is the second highest peak and has an elevation of 1,729 m. It is the watershed of the Yangtze River and the Huai River. The geopark became a national geopark in 2005, and it includes scenic areas such as Tiantangzhai, Tongluozhai, Baimajian, Foziling, Dongshisun, Wanfohu, Wanfoshan and Songliaoyan. It is characterised by landscapes of granite and the rocks and minerals produced in the Dabieshan ultra-high-pressure and high-temperature structural-metamorphic tectonic belt. The geopark also has attractive water and cultural landscapes.
