Migmatization is the geological process in which acidic granite and intermediate-basic metamorphic rock mix and fuse together to form a migmatite. There are many theories for the formation of migmatite, and the main interpretations are ‘anatexic migmatization’ and ‘metasomatic migmatization’. Migmatization is a common geologic process in old rocks.
