This is a loess erosion landscape consisting of a type of linear loess landform of a certain height with vertical walls and a narrow width. Loess gorges are characterised by vertical valley walls, narrow widths of 1–2 m, heights ranging from several metres to dozens of metres and an extremely narrow skyline viewed from the gorge bottom, which gives this landform its Chinese name ‘one-line-sky’. The gorges form along faults and are enlarged by water erosion along vertical joints. This landform has significant ornamental value (Fig. 36).
