A geopark has the responsibility to popularise science to students in the local communities. It also encourages the understanding of the value of local land and resources. It usually works jointly with local education departments to design and develop teaching materials of science and culture by adding these materials to the students’ curriculum. The general theme of these activities is to cherish the Earth and encourage students to learn about their environment. Through these activities, students should be able to show interest in earth science, nature conservation and the surrounding environment.
