This geopark is located in Lianchen County, Fujian Province. It became a national geopark in 2009, and the main geological attractions are geohazard sites and Danxia and karst landforms. The red sandstone and conglomerates of the Danxia landform were formed from alluvial-colluvial fans in the inland basins during the Late Cretaceous. The landform dips shallowly at 15°–25°. It is characterised by cliff walls and gorges and is also known as a monoclinic Danxia landform. Karst geomorphologic features are located in the Laiyuan scenic area, including karst peak clusters, solitary peaks, karst caves and secondary chemical deposits.
