Landscape engineering refers to outdoor projects (except garden building projects) in gardens, urban green areas and natural scenic sites that are characterized by the use of engineering techniques to shape the image of garden art. It includes earthworks that embody the creation of garden landscapes, hill-making projects in gardens (e.g., rock techniques, man-made rockwork, and stone arrangements), the water projects in gardens (e.g., revetments, slope protection, and fountains), garden roads and paving projects, and planting projects (e.g., tree planting, flower beds, and lawns).
