Lake Malawi National Park is located in eastern Malawi across the lake from Mozambique. It has an area of 94 km2. Located at the southern end of Lake Malawi, the national park is home to hundreds of endemic fish species. Their importance for studying evolution is comparable to that of the finches of the Galapagos Islands.
