Laixi Guo, (1934–) is a native of Shangcai County, Henan Province, and is a human, economic and tourism geographer. He graduated from the Department of Geography, Nanjing University and is one of the pioneers of Chinese tourism geography. He is a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a doctoral tutor. He once served as the chairman of the Human Geography Professional Committee of the Geographical Society of China, director of the Geographic Research Institute of Yunnan, and deputy chief editor and executive editor of the ‘China Human Geography Series’.
