Hot spring resort tourism is a type of tourism that focuses on experiencing hot spring culture, health maintenance and healing. Hot springs in different geological areas can have remarkable differences in terms of the quality, temperature and quantity of water. Before creating a tourism product based on a hot spring, detailed investigations and tests must be carried out on the quality and quantity of the spring water, and clinical experiments must be performed on the water’s healing effects to determine the scale and category of the tourism product. Hot springs used to be used only for healing, but a trend is emerging to elevate them to a cultural and spiritual, health-keeping, leisure and fashionable tourism activity that caters to the needs of modern consumers.
