Toward Constructive Social Systems Theory

Abstract

In this chapter, we focus on constructed aspects of social systems theory. In social science, there are two aspects of the research program. The one is a model-oriented approach. The other is a reality construction-oriented approach. We discuss the methodological aspects of system modeling, such as micro-macro relation, reduction, and causality divide. The modeling cycle is analyzed as a feedback cycle to attain the aim. We focus on selecting, consensus building, execution, and evaluating the alternative for the intervention and its feedback process. We also discuss the risk of embedded purpose in society as an automatic system. As a result, we have treated the constructive and reflexive process for creating a new reality in our society by an intervention.
