Abstract
Rhizomes sympodium. Culms caespitose, erect; internodes terete, without white powder, culm walls thick; sheath nodes a little prominent; culm nodes flat. Culm bud one. Branches many with a primary and strong one, lateral branches small, branchlets forming thorns. Culm sheaths deciduous, with short setae abaxially; auricles absent; blades erect, sessile, nearly triangular, the base as broad as the top of culm sheaths. Inflorescence iterautant; pseudospikelets with several florets, the anther of the top floret sterile; ridges of keels of palea winglike; stamens 6; stigmas 3. Caryopses. Shooting in autumn.
