Ordnung: Otidiforme – Trappen

Zusammenfassung

In der Ordnung Trappen (Otidiformes) werden gegenwärtig 12 Gattungen, mit 26 Arten und 44 Unterarten zusammengefasst. Hinsichtlich ihrer systematischen Einordnung war man sich lange uneinig. Zuletzt wurden die Trappen den Kranichen (Gruiformes) zugeordnet, was sich aufgrund phylogenetischer Untersuchungen jedoch als nicht haltbar herausstellte (Pitra et al. 2002). Heute stellt man diese Vögel in eine eigene Ordnung, die in der Nähe der Turakos (Musophagiformes) und Kuckucke (Cuculiformes) gesehen wird (Jarvis et al. 2014).
