Zusammenfassung
Wildvögel können von vielen Krankheitserregern infiziert werden. Einige Erreger können von Vögeln auf Menschen übertragen werden, sind also als Zoonoseerreger aufzufassen und stellen somit auch ein Gesundheitsrisiko für den Vogelhalter dar. Andere Erreger besitzen primär eine Bedeutung als Krankheitserreger bei Vögeln. Als Beispiele für bedeutende Zoonosen werden die aviäre Tuberkulose (Mykobakteriose), die Salmonellose, die Chlamydiose (Psittakose/Ornithose), die Aviäre Influenza und die Newcastle-Krankheit sowie Infektionen mit Usutu-Virus und West-Nil-Virus beschrieben. Außerdem werden wichtige andere Infektionskrankheiten bei Wildvögeln vorgestellt, und zwar Erkrankungen durch Viren (Circoviren, Polyomaviren, Bornaviren und Herpesviren), Pilze (Aspergillus und Megabakterien) und Parasiten (Trichomonaden, Histomonaden, Kokzidien, Würmer und Arthropoden).
