Zusammenfassung
Massenmediale Kommunikation ist für die Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung von enormer Relevanz. Zum einen stellt die Rezeption massenmedialer Inhalte selbst einen gesundheitsrelevanten Faktor dar, der im Zuge geeigneter Maßnahmen adressiert werden kann. Zum anderen kann massenmedial vermittelte Kommunikation ein vergleichsweise kostengünstiges und wirkungsvolles Instrument sein, um Zielgruppen zu informieren und zu überzeugen und auf diese Weise Maßnahmen der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung auf breiter Basis medienvermittelt umzusetzen. Der Beitrag widmet sich aus kommunikationswissenschaftlicher Perspektive der massenmedialen (Gesundheits-)Kommunikation, geht den gesundheitsrelevanten Aspekten massenmedialer Kommunikationsprozesse nach und diskutiert die Erfolgsbedingungen massenmedial vermittelter Kommunikation in der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung und deren Implikationen für die Gesundheitspraxis.
