Bedeutung und Stärkung von Gesundheitskompetenz/Health Literacy in der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung

Zusammenfassung

Den Menschen steht durch die digitale Transformation inzwischen eine Vielzahl an Gesundheitsinformationen zur Verfügung. Sie sind daher zunehmend auf Fähigkeiten und Kompetenzen angewiesen, die es ihnen ermöglichen, gesundheitsrelevante Informationen ausfindig zu machen, zu verstehen, zu beurteilen und zu nutzen, um sich präventiv und gesundheitsförderlich zu verhalten und die dazu nötigen Entscheidungen treffen zu können. Auch die sich ändernde Rolle des Patienten setzt bei den Menschen eine ausreichende Gesundheitskompetenz voraus, um als aktiver Ko-Produzent der eigenen Gesundheit agieren zu können. Jedoch zeigt der Blick in die bisherige Forschungslage, dass in vielen Ländern, wie auch im deutschsprachigen Raum, die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung und besonders einzelne Bevölkerungsgruppen eine niedrige Gesundheitskompetenz aufweisen. Um die Gesundheitskompetenz der Menschen zu stärken, bedarf es daher sowohl Ansätze auf persönlicher als auch Maßnahmen auf organisationaler Ebene.

    Die Daten wurden im Rahmen des von der Careum Stiftung und der Gesundheitsdirektion des Kantons Zürich getragenen Programms „Gesundheitskompetenz Zürich“ erhoben.

    Bisher wurden die verschiedenen Instrumente jedoch kaum systematisch bezüglich Inhalt, Verwendung und Wirksamkeit überprüft, um das Ausmaß, die Reichweite und die Konsequenzen der angestrebten Veränderungen hinsichtlich GKO zu verstehen. Die wenigen bisherigen Untersuchungen zeigen zwar, dass die Evidenz zur Wirksamkeit dieser Hilfsmittel bis heute limitiert ist, die Erfahrung in der Praxis damit aber äußerst positiv waren (Farmanova et al. 2018).

    Das Instrument wurde kürzlich international adaptiert (International Working Group Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Literate Healthcare Organizations (Working Group HPH und HLO 2019)).
