Zusammenfassung

Chronisch-entzündliche Darmerkrankungen (CED; Morbus Crohn, Colitis ulcerosa, CED-unklassifiziert [inflammatory bowel disease-unclassified; IBD-U]) werden bei 20–25 % der Patienten bereits im Kindes- und Jugendalter manifest. Die Entzündung verläuft in chronisch-rezidivierenden Schüben, eine Ursache ist bis heute nicht bekannt. Bereits 1932 von Burrill B. Crohn als „Ileitis terminalis“ erstmals beschrieben, wurde rasch erkennbar, dass auch der Morbus Crohn nicht nur auf das terminale Ileum beschränkt bleibt. Daher muss mit moderner Diagnostik der gesamte Gastrointestinaltrakt dargestellt werden, um eine individuelle Therapie zu planen.
