Zusammenfassung
Motivation ist ein zentrales Thema in Diskussionen über regelmäßiges Sporttreiben und über sportliche Leistung. In diesem Kapitel wird auf die verschiedenen Motive für das Sporttreiben eingegangen, nämlich Leistung, Macht und Anschluss sowie dargelegt, wie diese Motive erfasst werden können. Ferner werden motivationale Orientierungen, das motivationale Klima und wie dieses verändert werden kann, beschrieben. Abschließend wird auf die Unterscheidung zwischen intrinsischer und extrinsischer Motivation sowie den besonderen motivationalen Zustand des Flows eingegangen.
