Zusammenfassung

Die kurze Einführung beinhaltet die Erregerbeschreibung und Labordiagnose sowie die aktuelle Resistenzsituation unter Berücksichtigung der Methicillin-resistenten Staphylococcus-aureus-Isolate und deren Eradikation im ambulanten Bereich. Anschließend werden die durch Staphylokokken und Streptokokken verursachten Erkrankungen aufgeführt, die im klinischen Alltag sowohl im stationären als auch im ambulanten Bereich eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Der klinische Befund wird durch charakteristische klinische Abbildungen weiter verfestigt. Für jede Erkrankung werden die wichtigsten Differenzialdiagnosen genannt. Die Abschnitte zur Therapie stellen den aktuellen Wissensstand unter Berücksichtigung im klinischen Alltag gesammelter eigener Erfahrungen dar. Neben den häufigen Erkrankungen wie Erysipel, Impetigo oder Abszess werden auch eher seltene klinische Krankheitsbilder aufgeführt, wie kutane Botryomykose, nekrotisierende Fasziitis oder die Gruppe der toxinmediierten Erkrankungen wie staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome oder das rekurrierende toxinbedingte perineale Erythem.
