FormalPara Synthese – Verteilung – Abbau – EliminationPentazocin wird als Razemat (Enantiomere) appliziert, wirksam ist jedoch nur das (-)-Pentazocin, das die Polarisationsebene des linear polarisierten Lichts gegen den Uhrzeigersinn dreht. Die Substanz wird hepatisch metabolisiert. Die Abbauprodukte werden als Glukuronide im Urin ausgeschieden, nur 10 % der Muttersubstanz werden unverändert renal eliminiert.
