FormalPara BeschreibungGuanidinoessigsäure ist eine wichtige Vorläufersubstanz der Kreatinsynthese und entsteht durch Einwirkung der Guanidinoacetatmethyltransferase. Der Mangel dieses Enzyms führt zu einer erniedrigten Kreatinsynthese mit Anhäufung von Guanidinoacetat in Körperflüssigkeiten (Kreatinsynthesedefekte). Guanidinoacetat wird mittels HPLC (Chromatographie) oder LC-MS/MS (Massenspektrometrie) bestimmt.
