FormalPara Funktion – PathophysiologieFlucytosin wird mittels Cytosinpermease in die Zelle transportiert und dort zu 5-Fluorouracil (5 FU) metabolisiert, was durch Kompetition zu Thymidylatmangel führt.

FormalPara AnalytikHPLC (Hochleistungs-Flüssigkeitschromatographie), LC-MS/MS.
FormalPara IndikationTherapeutisches Drug Monitoring.
FormalPara InterpretationTherapeutischer Bereich (S, P): 35–70 (20–50) mg/L; toxisch: >100 mg/L; komatös-letal: unbekannt (Schulz et al. 2012). Unter der Therapie sollten 25 mg/L nicht unterschritten werden, um das Auftreten resistenter Stämme zu vermeiden. Üblicherweise wird Flucytosin in Verbindung mit Amphotericin B verwendet.
