Definition

Radiative Attachment is the process in which the emission of radiation allows the formation of anions from neutral species and electrons. An example of this process is

$$ {\mathrm{C}}_3\mathrm{N} + {e}^{-}\to\ {\mathrm{C}}_3{\mathrm{N}}^{-} + \mathrm{h}\nu $$

Where, hν represents a photon.
