Ocular Toxoplasmosis

The infection with the worldwide spread protozoan   Toxoplasma gondii is the major cause of the so-called infectious uveitis. Since the eyes are peculiar systems protected by immune privilege, their immune responses differ significantly from other organs, when infected by T. gondii.
