This genus of fleas includes besides X. cheopis at least 16 further species: X. astia, X. brasiliensis, X. buxtoni, X. conformis, X. eriodos, X. gerbii, X. hirsuta, X. hirtipes, X. mubica, X. nuttalli, X. philoxera, X. phyllomae, X. pirlei, X. skrjabini, X. versuta, and X. versabilis.
