Zusammenfassung
Gegenstand des Beitrags ist die hochaktuelle politische und gesellschaftliche Vision „Industrie 4.0“, die bislang kaum systematisch Gegenstand der sozialwissenschaftlichen Innovationsforschung geworden ist. Im Beitrag wird wie folgt argumentiert: Erstens, die Vision Industrie 4.0 ist als Technologieversprechen zu verstehen und entfaltet daher handlungskoordinierende Effekte. Zweitens, ganz im Gegensatz zu dieser viel diskutierten Vision finden sich bislang im industriellen Sektor kaum die erwarteten disruptiven Veränderungen, vielmehr zeigt sich ein hohes Maß an technologischer Pfadabhängigkeit.
