Zusammenfassung
Information und Kommunikation stellen wichtige Mittel dar, um Krankheiten zu bewältigen oder gesundheitsbezogene Einstellungen auszubilden. Dabei ist nicht nur die Informationssuche, sondern auch die kognitive Informationsverarbeitung für das Erreichen der jeweiligen Zielsetzung entscheidend. Die Verarbeitung ist geprägt durch die Notwendigkeit zur Ressourcenallokation und Selektion, die dazu führt, dass aufgrund von bestimmten Kriterien (wie der Konsistenz, Unsicherheit oder Ursachen der Elaborationsstärke) spezifische Informationen bevorzugt werden.
