Zusammenfassung
Die Wechselwirkung von Genre und Gender ist einer der zentralen Forschungsgegenstände feministischer Filmtheorie. Gender-Differenzen werden als ein zentrales Signifikationssystem der Genres und Genres wiederum als Aushandlungsmedien aktueller Subjektdiskurse aufgefasst. Insgesamt reflektieren die feministischen Film-theoretiker*innen damit historische Entwicklungen von Genres, ihre geschlechtsspezifische Produktion und Rezeption sowie ihre Bedeutung in der Verhandlung kultureller Geschlechterbilder, seit etwa den 1990er-Jahren auch in Verknüpfung mit anderen sozial wirksamen Differenzen wie Class und Race.
