Zusammenfassung

Der Artikel zeigt auf, inwiefern Genrebenennungen aufgrund ihrer wesenhaften Heterogenität und Wandelbarkeit kein taxonomisches System zur Klassifikation von Filmen bereitstellen. Er beschreibt sie stattdessen als flexible Verständigungsbegriffe, deren Funktion und Bedeutung sich verändert, je nachdem, in welchen historischen, kulturellen, pragmatischen und wissenschaftlichen Kontexten sie verwendet werden.
