Zusammenfassung
Die Bedeutung der Filmphilosophie von Gilles Deleuze wird heute darin erkannt, den Kanon der weitgehend westlichen Spielfilme entlang der – mit Bergson und Peirce entwickelten – Begriffe von Bewegungs- und Zeit-Bild, Wahrnehmungs-, Affektions- und Aktions-Bild, von Virtualität und Aktualität des Bildlichen zu klassifizieren. Ein Problem dieser Taxonomie liegt in der gleichzeitig historischen und systematischen Unterteilung der Filme rund um den behaupteten ästhetischen Bruch des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Weitergeführt wird Deleuzes Begrifflichkeit heute vor allem in politisch motivierten Lesarten, die sich verstärkt für affektive, minoritäre und kompositkulturelle Ästhetiken interessieren.
