Zusammenfassung

Queere Theorien und Filmtheorien teilen grundsätzliche Fragen zu Körperbildern, Formen der Repräsentation, Sichtbarmachung und Geschichtsschreibung. Der Artikel rekonstruiert und diskutiert grundlegende Schriften, Begriffe und Paradigmen (Identität, Textualität, Performativität, Normativität, Historizität, Affektivität, Intersektionalität) und bindet den aktuellen Forschungsstand an signifikante Filmbeispiele zurück und ergänzt ihn durch filmtheoretische Querverweise.

    Auffällig ist, dass queere Theorie immer noch von angloamerikanischen Ansätzen und Debatten geprägt ist – ein Umstand, dem der vorliegende Aufsatz Rechnung trägt, auch wenn dies stellenweise zulasten anderer regionaler Beiträge sowie historiografischer Studien geht.

    In der deutschen Ausgabe des Suhrkamp-Verlags (de Lauretis 1999) wurden wesentliche Teile, insbesondere zur Filmtheorie gestrichen. Zu den weiteren Implikationen vgl. den Eintrag zur feministischen Filmtheorie und Genderforschung.

    In diesem Beitrag wird das Adjektiv ‚Schwarz‘ mit Großbuchstaben beginnend geschrieben, sofern es sich auf die politische Identität und Bewegung Schwarzer Menschen bezieht.

    Aufgrund der semantischen Differenzen zwischen dem angloamerikanischen Wort „Race“, das vor allem kulturell und politisch definiert ist, und dem deutschen Begriff „Rasse“, das primär biologisch gefasst wird und historisch diskreditiert ist, wird hier das englische Wort verwendet.
